Ancient worlds
The first building that we can read is about “Stonehenge”, it was built in the UK 5.000 years ago. Nobody knows why was built it for. In that age the people weren't have equipment, so scientist said that a higher intelligent was needed. So the mystery was not discovered.
Other popular place is “The Easter Island”.It is famous for over 800 stones statues called Moai.
The statues are between one and ten metres tall and have a similar faces. Experts think that the statues were
the home of ghosts of people from the island’s past. In 1990’s, forty scientists moved only fifteen of the statues, and put them in new platforms. So, how did the people move more than a 300 statues in that age without equipment? We never know.
In Egypt the people built pyramids for the bodies of the pharaohs after they died. Their tradition was the pharaoh’s gold was put on their graves for the next life. But mystery is how were the pyramids built? Scientists think that over 10.000 men worked for more than twenty years for built it.
The Sphinx guards pyramids. It is twenty metres high and more than seventy-three meters long with a big face and the body of an animal that show who strong the king was. The Sphinx has the head of King Khufu’s son, King Khafre.

How many civilizations were lost?
The Atlantis was a beautiful place. It was an island on Atlantic Ocean and was rich with plants and animal life. It was like a perfect civilization. But story told that the Island was disappeared under the sea. People still want to know about Atlantis. They are still looking for this civilization.
Statues, Pyramids, Islands and “Drawing” were found. In Peru very large “Drawing” was discovered. You can’t see them from the ground because they are so large. Only you can see them from the air. But what were they made it for? Some people think the drawings have a religious meaning.
